Goblin Valley
Saturday morning we drove over to Goblin Valley. I had never been there, and just like it says below, it is like nowhere else. It was marvelous!! I can't help but thinking that it won't be as accessible as it is now for long. I remember Mike's brother telling us how right after high school when he went to Giza the students were climbing up and down the face of the pyramids, more or less doing what they wanted. That's how it was here. Some ignorant teenager knocked the head off of one of the 'goblins' while we were there. The echo of the enormous boulder, loosed from its resting place of thousands of years, crashed through the entire valley. I don't think he did it on purpose, but still. They take thousands of years to form and minutes to destroy. We had a great time down in the goblin valley.
