GREAT KIDS!!

Maddie graduated from Elementary school with a record number of awards. I won't list them all because I can't remember them all. But trust me, she's BRILLIANT. This is her and her best friend, Geo, who is in Korea for the great summer bummer (for Maddie, anyway).

Maddie and Mrs. O. Great teacher...can't say enough good about her--you can't imagine the smell of 6th graders before they have their "maturation" programs and get a free deodorant and instructions (and a plea!) on how to use it.

Nick and Mrs. H. Another keeper. too bad she's off on maternity leave. too bad for us, that is.

SCHOOL'S...OUT...FOR...SUMMER!!!

the annual EXTRAVAGAAAAAANZA signifies the end of the school year for the lower school kids. dylan and i were just along for the ride (train ride, that is).

Preschool Grad

Dylan is DONE with being a little boy. He's now graduated from Preschool. He can read. He can do math. AND, he combs his own hair!

IRON COUNTY, UT

Remember Maddie's (she's spelling it '-ie' these days) Mideval Project? Well, here was the 4th grade variation of that. Nick had to do about 8 projects on his county in addition to being able to label all the counties (28) on a map of UT. Some of his projects were: a powerpoint presentation, design a license plate, poster and oral presentation, design a flag (with THAT many counties, not all of them have flags), design a logo, you get the picture. TOTAL PARENTAL NIGHTMARE. extra credit was available if they visited the actual county. Ours, Iron Co., (of course) was in the very corner of the state. We missed the extra credit this time.

Nick did a fantastic job on his presentation and closed the school year with A+'s in EVERY SUBJECT. What a freakin' BRAINIAC. He's good and piano and weeding, too. LOVE him so much.

chicken lady

We went to the chicken lady's house to see her chicks. They were very sweet and she assures us that even now (this was the beginning of May) they continue to be good pets AND good citizens. Maybe we should get some. Do you think it would bug the neighbors?

all rested up

pardon the gap, i'm having a brief bout of 'where to start' paralysis. promise i'm going to start putting whatever picture up i see first instead of thinking about it.
