Holiday

I can easily understand why the younger kids in a family can end up with a different upbringing than the older siblings. Back in the day (when Maddy and Nick were Dylan's age, way back then), I would have forced them to dress up for the hokey kid's parade and go to the church event.

This year, I was tired from a day at work, painting until 1:30am the previous night and not prepared for the "homemade ice cream or homemade cookie" requirement. I came home to find that my babysitter BLESS HER had taken the kids to the festival at the park and they had already dressed up. You can see them in what is left of their "Pioneer" costumes. They seemed content with what they had done already to celebrate and Dylan's slight interested dissapated when he found out that the big boys were going to play D&D with Mike. So it was settled. Dinner at home, a quick run to the hardware store, we met up with my sister in town for the big triathalon, cleaned the garage, a ride on the dunebuggy, trip to the instacare and 7-11 slurpees on the way home. Then I painted unti 2:30am! WHAT A HOLIDAY!! Way less stressful than than homemade ice cream and the kid's parade, no kidding.
